Paver Sealing in Treasure Island, FL

Paver Ink is based in Treasure Island and seals paver driveways, pool decks, patios and walkways across the island. This is our home water, so it is also where we know the surfaces best.

What Treasure Island does to pavers

Local conditions

Treasure Island is a barrier island between Madeira Beach and St. Pete Beach, with the Gulf on one side and Boca Ciega Bay on the other. That shapes what fails first.

Salt spray hits from both directions

Treasure Island is barely a half mile wide in places. There is no inland buffer, so onshore wind carries salt across the whole island rather than dropping it at the beach. Salt works into open joints, and once it is in there it keeps drawing moisture long after the surface looks dry.

Sand fills the joints, then takes them out

Beach sand blows into paver joints constantly around Sunset Beach and Sunshine Beach. It looks like the joints are full, but it is loose sand sitting on top of the polymeric sand rather than replacing it. Sweep it out and the joints underneath are often half empty.

No shade means no relief from UV

Island lots run light on mature canopy. Most driveways here take direct sun from morning to evening, which is what pulls the color out of a paver faster than anything else on this list.

How a Treasure Island job runs

Four steps, no surprises

  1. Walk the job

We measure the field, count the joints and tell you what the surface actually needs. If sealing is the wrong call, we say so.

  2. Clean & sand

Surface clean, then hand detail the edges and stains. Polymeric sand gets swept and set into every joint.

  3. Seal

Two coats, wet-look or matte, applied once the pavers read dry all the way through. Damp pavers are how sealer goes cloudy.

  4. Walk it again

You look at it with us before we load the trailer. Anything off gets fixed that day, not on a callback.

Straight answers

Paver questions in Treasure Island

Does salt air actually damage pavers, or just make them look dirty?

Both. The visible part is the white haze and the mildew that follows. The part that costs you is salt sitting in open joints, holding moisture against the paver edges and washing sand out every time it rains. Sealing after the joints are properly refilled is what stops that cycle.

How often do Treasure Island driveways need resealing?

Island driveways generally come due sooner than inland ones because they take full sun and direct salt. We would rather look at the surface than quote a number blind: if water still beads and the joints are tight, you are fine to wait.

Can you seal pavers that get flooded during storms?

Yes, but timing matters. After a surge or heavy street flooding there is silt driven down into the joints, and sealing over that traps it. The surface needs a proper clean and fresh joint sand first, and it needs to be genuinely dry through the paver, not just dry on top.
