Paver Sealing in Seminole, FL

Paver Ink seals paver driveways, patios and pool decks across Seminole. Being inland changes the picture: the main enemy here is the sprinkler system, not the Gulf.

What Seminole does to pavers

Local conditions

Seminole is an inland Pinellas city around Lake Seminole, several miles back from the coast. That shapes what fails first.

Irrigation rust is the signature Seminole stain

Well and reclaimed water carries dissolved iron. Every time a sprinkler head throws water across a driveway, that iron oxidises on the surface. The result is the orange fan-shaped staining you see radiating out from the edge of the lawn. It is not dirt, and no amount of pressure will remove it.

Rust needs a chemical treatment, not more pressure

Iron staining has to be broken down with an oxalic-based rust remover and rinsed properly. Pressure washing an orange stain just cleans the dirt around it and makes the stain more obvious. This is the single most common thing we get called back to fix after someone else has been out.

Fertilizer and lawn chemicals add to it

Iron-heavy lawn fertilizer flung onto a paver driveway by a spreader leaves rust freckling within days. Seminole has a lot of well-kept lawns, which is lovely for the grass and hard on the hardscape next to it.

How a Seminole job runs

Four steps, no surprises

  1. Walk the job

We measure the field, count the joints and tell you what the surface actually needs. If sealing is the wrong call, we say so.

  2. Clean & sand

Surface clean, then hand detail the edges and stains. Polymeric sand gets swept and set into every joint.

  3. Seal

Two coats, wet-look or matte, applied once the pavers read dry all the way through. Damp pavers are how sealer goes cloudy.

  4. Walk it again

You look at it with us before we load the trailer. Anything off gets fixed that day, not on a callback.

Straight answers

Paver questions in Seminole

What are the orange stains on my driveway?

Almost certainly iron from your irrigation water. If the pattern fans out from wherever a sprinkler head throws, that confirms it. It is extremely common on reclaimed and well water across Seminole.

Can rust staining be removed completely?

Most of the time, yes, with the right rust treatment rather than pressure. Very old staining that has sat through several seasons may lighten to a faint shadow instead of vanishing. Sealing afterwards makes the next round far easier to lift.

Should I adjust my sprinklers before you seal?

Please do, and it is the highest-value thing you can do yourself. If the heads keep throwing iron water onto sealed pavers, the staining comes straight back on top of the sealer. Turning the heads a few degrees is free and saves the finish.
